Vampires and Werewolves and Killing, Oh My!!
Let me just get this first comment out of the way, because you know it's coming. Kate Beckinsale is pretty fucking hot. Not like, Alyssa Milano hot, but hot just the same. Now, on to the review.
I tend to like movies with fantasy elements and lots of violence. This one has both. The special effects were pretty nice. When someone changed into werewolf form, you could really see how much effort was put in to it. I bet that shit hurts, too!
Was this movie a piece of cinematic genius? Fuck no. Stop asking me stupid questions! It was fun though. I will say that I didn't like the way they handled things with the Vampires completely. They were killed off very easily by the Lycans (what the werewolves were called in the movies). In once scene, Kate Beckinsale's character, Selene, gets stabbed in the shoulder and fucking passes out from it. She's a VAMPIRE for fuck's sake. Then she drives into the ocean and loverboy Michael, played by Scott Speedman, saves her life. Umm, call me ignorant (do it and I'll slap you) but she's immortal and undead. I don't think she needs to fear either bleeding to death or drowning.
Otherwise, it was cool. The love story between Selene and Michael was underdeveloped, but who wanted to see that shit anyway? Go check it out. If you're a fan of the genre, you won't be disappointed.
